About Bush-Field
Bush-Field Estate and Vineyard
Bush-Field Estates Vineyards & Winery is located on Sonoma Mountain Top™ in Sonoma County, California. Located on the south eastern ridge of the mountain top at an elevation of approximately 2350 feet (above the clouds), Bush-Field offers incomparable, panoramic views. We are positioned at the top edge of the true Valley of the Moon above Jack London State Park and have clear vistas of three ancient mountain peaks: Mount Diablo, Mount Tamalpais, and Mount Saint Helena.
To the east, look out over the Valley of the Moon and across the ridge tops of the mountains separating the Sonoma, Napa, and Sacremento Valleys. Spectacular sunrises. To the south, you can see from San Pablo Bay to the skyline of San Francisco and the Richmond and Bay Bridges. To the west, you can look out through Cotati Valley and across the ridges over Bodega Bay, and then the clear blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. Spectacular sunsets.
Bush-Field Vineyards
On our estate, we currently have five acres of Pinot Noir vineyards planted in 1999 and 2000 with plans for more. At 2350 feet, we are the highest producing vineyards in Sonoma County. We are considered part of the Sonoma Valley appellation yet we are approximately 1900 feet away from–and above–the Sonoma Mountain appellation. We use the descriptor Sonoma Mountain Top™ for that unique distinction.
Our vineyards slope gently towards the East and are irrigated by five mountain springs on the property. The slope not only provides good drainage and but also just the right amount of sun exposure. In the mornings, we are often above the cloud line and the vines receive the sun early in the day. In the afternoons and evenings, the fog rolls in from the Pacific Ocean and drifts across the mountain top to Sonoma Valley on the other side.
We have been producing wine since 2002 and we currently have three vintages available for sale. Please see Our Wines page for more details.
